The Middle School Campus Guidance Office seeks to assist students in their academic and emotional growth. Counselors address such areas as self-esteem, social skills, decision-making, goal setting and career exploration. Counselors also coordinate and interpret assessment tools such as statewide tests and interest inventories.
Another important goal of the counselor is to help open the lines of communication between students, teachers, parents and administrators. Students and parents are encouraged to share their concerns directly with appropriate staff, i.e. teacher, counselor, or administrator. Team meetings, parent conferences and individual student sessions seek solutions to problems for a smoother passage through Middle School.
